Fishing is still good out there. There's a fairly good mixed bag right now after the front. The guys have been doing a mix of trolling and live baiting, I've only been out twice and I deadbaited both times. I made a brand new teaser to go over the dredge and about 3 minutes after a spent all this time on it a **** wahoo (not even a big one either, 15 pounds tops) hits the leading squid and I lose the other 8 and the new islander combo I had built about a hour beforehand, $100's of dollars slowly sank as I watched from the bridge....
The fish are seemingly concentrated around the 140-180 lines and if there's bait and good current inside of 100' they can be really thick. The one sort of strange thing is that we've caught almost NO fish lately on the kits or near the surface, the majority are coming deep on the weighted or down lines, even the sails we raised on the teasers/dredge are all coming up, not from the side....
Either way, hope this helps those that are going out this week. Maybe work deeper?
Side note- Hurry up!! for those that need to register for the seminar, the additional free bonus gifts are almost all spoken for, so register asap. I'm working to get each attendee a free custom Jigging Rod and Reel valued at $500+ but we need to get the order placed this week for the building and delivery in time, and I need a big minimum order in quickly for the process to work, fingers crossed.
Here's some catch pics from the last several days.
