Finally decided to try the NIRL in the afternoon. Wind had died down and sun was in and out, so I gave it a try. If I got there and the conditions sucked, I'd turn around. By the time I got to the ramp the wind had died a bit and the sun was in and out, so I went ahead and faced the cold and gave it a try. Trout were turned on, when I first started casting I'd get a hit or catch a near slot or slot trout every cast in 3 to 5 ft. Went in to shallower water and found the bigger ones, not as many but I started catching more slots and over slot with several I'd classify as "gators". No redfish though:shrug. Btw the water was super low, can't remember ever seeing it that low in a long while.

Glad to hear some nice fish survived last years bloom and doom.
