I'm rather large and on occasion take advantage of what is around to rub my back against. Nephew started calling me uncle griz since I reminded him of a grizzly bear when I did so.

Born and raised in Key West, 4th generation, and my family thinks I'm crazy. So, years ago when the whole internet thing was coming around and you had to choose a screen name and an email address, I came up with that. Plus, It's my favorite type of sandwich.

Balla coi persici means dances with perch. My lake is full of perch and it has been the first species I caught as kid.

I am originally from Key West and back in the early '80s I was hitting on a Korean girl in the Voyager lounge. At the time Donkey Kong was very popular and she stated that she wanted to go to the arcade in Key Plaza and play Donkey Kong. In my drunken state, I suggested she play "conchy ****" instead.:grin. She didn't get the meaning right away, but she sure understood it later. :wink

The name stuck through the years.

Visited the site numerous times without ever participating. One day I decided to comment on something and "dish" was the first thing that came to my mind that rhymes with fish. Wanted something easy to remember in case I came back again.

First my son and I were called this in relation to our fishing, hunting and flying RC airplanes. He is now grown and gone and ID's his family as TeamTek2.

TeamTeke is now my wife and I. A great team in all respects.

I gotta tell you that "IF" I thought for one moment that I could do the name "River ****" the justice that it rightfully deserves I would jump on it in a second....

Nope! A screen name like that is for a young man....or woman for that matter.....who has higher ambitions in life than myself.....:)

When asked where my favorite place to fish was; I said anywhere from the Flats to the Blue water.

I love to fish the "phlats" of mosquito lagoon..... although I haven't been out much the past couple years. What was once twice a week is barely once a month now.

Short answer, too busy and health issues.

Long answer... I retired March 31 with full intentions of fishing a whole lot more... during the week instead of weekends. I even sent out clever invitations to my retirement party saying "I have a retirement plan... I plan to fish more". Had about 55 people and a band on my pool deck, in my house and under party tents outside the pool screen. Was a great time for sure. I subsequently had 3 surgeries this summer and 2 trips to ER. Worst summer of my life.

Additionally, at my coaxing and guidance and proving thru my market study that it was viable, my wife started a business about 6 years ago... a single member LLC... during that bad ole economy everyone talked about. The business took off like gang busters. My wife may never forgive me. She's worked harder the last 6 years than she did the previous 40 years.

I lost both of my parents this year. My mom in January and my dad last month. I've driven to VA 5 times this year, twice in the last month. Now my brother, 3 sisters and I have to dispose of the stuff they accumulated over 69 years of marriage. Going back up next week for a couple weeks.

So, when I'm not recovering from surgery or traveling to VA, I'm helping my wife with her business. I also take care of the online store, although I haven't met my retirement goal of building that portion up after retirement. Her brick and mortar store does very well, though.

It makes me sick every time I look at that beautiful little skiff sitting there waiting to go fishing.
