Fishing Dominican Republic?

Does anyone have experience fishing in the DR? I will be going down for over Christmas break and looking for some suggestions, including where to go and possible charters. I will be staying on Southeast shore, near La Romana. Being land locked is not an option!

You will be close to Casa de Campo , I'm not sure if the Contango is still there now though , lots of traveling sporties there . It's just a matter of who is there at that time . I usually fish out of Cap Cana when I'm in DR , sorry I can't help more .

**** Cap Cana is going off right now , now I'm going to have to look in to going . Go on http://billfishreport.com/ and see who is in CdC and cross reference them . You might be able to find a private boat that you can charter , if no regular charters are available . Or you could take an hour or so ride to Cap Cana , what I would do after seeing those numbers .

Too short of notice right now , will probably go somewhere next month . If you decide to drive to Cap Cana , book the Dhara if you can . Have fun ..
