“Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
A wildfire is a fearful thing for those in the way of it.
Mr gl spent many, many years fighting wood land fires with tractor and plow on flat land, hand tools in the mountains - thankfully the last twenty or so directing aircraft with a radio.
If not for the costs involved, which are huge, the danger to firefighters and the loss of property - fire isn't all bad. Mother Natures broom. (tho' she doesn't need folks with lighters helping her out) Sadly, good things get swept away too. Hopefully she sends rain soon!
My family lost two huge barns, many sheds and about 120 acres of burnt corn/hay crops to a fire in the mid 70's. Will never forget the day. Thank God the house was saved.
Just when I think you're an alright dude....you prove me wrong.
who was it coined that phrase?
hint ... it wasn't me
Mother Nature doesn't care about anyone's opinions. That is a fact.

Anyone who would try to make a humorous comment about this is in need of some therapy.
wasn't intended to be 'humorous'
was intended to ridicule those who deny climate change ... even when it bites them on the S.

Some consider this photo taken by a wildland firefighter to be the most beautiful photograph of both wildfire and wildlife ever taken using a then new type of digital camera. The photo was taken on August 6, 2000 by John McColgan who was a contract worker for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and a fire behavior expert attached to an Alaskan Type I Incident Management Team on a Montana wildfire.
It's suppose to storm tomorrow & Wednesday. Maybe that will help.
We got about 3 inches of rain overnight. Still getting showers as the front moves through. The rain helped with the fires, but enough rain fell to cause some mud slides on the steep slopes. More rain expected day after tomorrow as new front moves in. News said the rain definitely helped firefighting efforts.

Wasn't climate change. Was extended El Nino in Pacific ocean that cause the drought up here. It's happened before and will happen again, as in the late 1970s, another in the late 1980s and again mid 1990s. The El Nino is dissipating and a La Nina in the Pacific is starting. Best bust out your long woolly underwear for the Siberian Express fronts to come!

3 dead so far but that number is expected to rise as rescuers finally get into areas that so far have been blocked.
Good friend of my wife and her husband lost their home and business.
Sad day.

Climate change? Yes, climate does change. No.matter.what. In any event, arson is suspected.
Hope Fins and family and property are safe.
You make all Georgians look bad with comments like this.

Amazingly.....it appears that whenever it happens someone has to generate some crazy climate stuff over it.
Hope all are well...
