anchor trolley
So i just got my first kayak the FS12t. I took it out for the first time today and realized I want an anchor trolley on it, my main question is do i need the cleat to tie the line to it or can I just latch my anchor line on to the ring on the trolley. I ask because the anchor i have has a carabiner and a float on it so I wouldnt be able to pass it through the loop or even attach it to a cleat.

Remember, only one side of the two lines that run front to back needs to be in any kind of mid bracket. The other line should be totally free from front all the way to back. That way you won't have any interference from your carabiner.

Yes. Otherwise the trolley line and your loop/ring will move back and forth throwing off your angle.
You can clip your anchor line to the loop/ring and then move it back and forth to the desired angle. Once you have that correct, cleat off the trolley line so it does not move. For safety, you can run the anchor line through your loop/ring and then attach somewhere that is easily/quickly accessible. Then you can slide the ring/loop front or back to desired angle and then cleat it off. That way, if you get into trouble, you can just release the anchor line and it will pull through the ring/loop and you will be free.
