I tossed the net on Wednesday at the shands bridge...got enough for two days worth of bait but it would have taken all day and two nets to fill a bucket. Yes, they were mostly very nice sized.
Dr.'s Inlet today and there were shrimp early but they vacated before I could fill the bucket. Very nice sized but I might have gotten just over half a bucket. Also caught some nice yellow mouth trout just west of the bridge in the lake. All of this was on incoming tide so maybe with the right tide you could fill a bucket.
Never shrimped before and have a few questions:
Are you guys blind cast netting or are there signs to look for?
Do you use sonar to find their patterns or is something visible at the surface?
How deep does the net typically have to go?

Day time from 16-30 feet. Around Dr. Lake 16-25 feet. You can look for them on the finder if there are large numbers you can see them just above the dark bottom line.
At night shallow, can get baiting from bank. lots of info on here just use the search.
we got ours early on Saturday 9-11AM before the current really starting ripping into the lake. Once the current picked up they were scattered for sure.
