11.22 Hook N Up in SLI

Looked at the forecast and decided it was good to go given I got the week off of work for a half day fishing. So I gathered up a few of my neighbors who don't get out often that wanted to get a bend to the rod.

Left the dock around 7am and Started out at sandpile and picked up some blue runners and threads on the sabiki. Then it was off to bottom fishing and drifting live baits around the 6 mile reef area. We had constant rod bending action as the current was less than 1 knot. We picked up some snapper and sea bass for the guys to take home and a king.

Tip: If you never had King Fish Medallions they are excellent way to eat Kings. Steak the king and cut out the medallions. Marinate in Italian dressing and bacon wrap and throw on the grill or fry them up. You can't go wrong with it.

We lost some real nice fish boat side. Had a 20+ Bull boat side and when he jumped spit the hook. Lost a few AJ's to sharks and lost a king boat side all in the same area of 6 mile. After catching this on a butterflied blue runner

We decided to run to a different area as there was a great color change edge in about the 180-190ft area with a 1+degree temp change that we trolled some. No luck so around 11:30am we decided to call it day and head back home. Good day with good friends. Hope to get back out on Friday and Sat if the weather holds up.
