Have been getting out a few times a week when weather, and people line up!
Monday, I had a trip thanks to Ryan and his squad. (Mark, Jamie, Chase, Bily and gang)
We gave em a forum discount for 6 hr trip and headed out w my partner Carl (Slob City 31' Contender)
Ran up to middle of condos and set up in 90' with a NW breeze about 10-15, fairly clean water,
just a trickle of N current. As I was going thru the "what do we do when we get a kite bite" speech, the left long kite got drilled. Speaking of kites, Carl was MOTIVATED and we flew 3 kites, and had 3 flats and a deep bait out!
It was a dolphin, and very cool bite as the fish ate, and came jumping at the boat.
WTG Chase as out jr angler scoring first blood. About 10 minutes later the flat line w baloon starts screaming.
Ryan gets tight, and there is a 15lb+- gaffer jumping around. Fish was welcomed into an icy bath and we reset.
Sail eats the deep bait, but we pull the hook. Then deep bait is bit and Chase is on a decent cuda (released)
Then another sail eats left middle kite bait.
Mark is tight, fighting the fish, but fish jumped in spread and tangled the short before we could lift out of the way.
0/2 on sails but still exciting. The wind died and we went to bump troll w Chase catching about a 10lb king.
Nobody wanted to eat / smoke him so we did a Palm beach release at the boat.
Then the bite got real slow as wind died and we called it. We jammed out some tunes and had some great laughs.
I whacked up the fish at the ramp and sent them on their way w 4 (to go bags / mahi specials)
Was scheduled to fish Ft Pierce this AM (dredge / fly fishing for sails). However, wind was a bit much for that so reset. I'll be out Friday on Bahama 41, and wish you and your's a Happy Thanksgiving
Thanks Mark, Ryan, Jamie, Chase, Billy and Carl. PS: It's cool that E$ now has another option for taking forum (and other) people out who don't have boats!
