ohio key

where is the best places for snapper fishing from ohio key from march to September, mangrove,muttons any bottom dewellers that put up a good fight, only have a 17ft key west this first trip.

    With that key west I recommend that you go learn the backwaters. There are a lifetimes worth of fishing spots around you off Ohio key. There is an area directly north of you full of old bomb craters that have left nice hard star cuter and deep holes. Definitely worth looking around at. Also all of the deep channels hold snapper and over winter you can run into cero's, Kings, cobra and trout.

    thanks for the answer, is there a place I can get a map or gps numbers to bomb holes. on a calm day can I venture out to patch reefs on atlantic side in a 17 ft.
