Friday, Nov 4th........Did a solo trip out of Gordon Pass. From the house, baitshop, ramp, launched in 30 minutes! Headed to the rocks throwing a white swim bait. Caught 3 snook on each pass (tide moving out quite well). All snook were 24-26". Lots of boat traffic and headed towards Keewaydin. Stopped at 4 points and caught (and released) all the 8-9" mangrove snapper you could ever want to catch on shrimp/cork combo. Moved further south and anchored off a point and started throwing into the boat channel. Blue You Zuri the lure of choice and began catching monster lady fish (24'+), jacks to 4 pounds and 2 blue fish. Boat traffic picked up so went back to the rocks. 4 passes and nothing. Fished the shoreline in the no wake zone just inside the pass. Caught 1 jack. And even more boat.
So no keepers this trip. Some good fish caught (snook) and decent numbers of "others". My next time out I will return to Caxambas and fish there. Fewer boats by a factor of a million and in my 2 recent trips near Gordons Pass no trout or redfish. I guess it'll be like coming home...............
Till the next time, be safe. And I see where Snook Affinity mentioned the lack of posts in the General forum. I agee with him. Many anglers, very few posting. It's not about the bragging, it's about telling others your successes and failures. Lord knows I've posted BOTH!!!!
