I am looking for some hot pink or white saddles feathers in order to tie up about 50 Cam Sigler Billfish flies for Guatemala....any ideal where to find some feathers??
Call Pat Dunlop at Cascade Crest... (800) 528-0001, if memory serves. They have an on-line catalogue as well but you'll have to look up the correct address with google. Pat not only knows exactly what you need, but will tell you if their stock isn't suitable... Tell him I said Hi... Years ago they were Rogue River Anglers...
Been looking for the same. Local shops aren't cutting it. May have to raid whiting farms or start raising my own roosters. I see a few shops online but I don't like the idea of spending alot on a cape without being able to see it in person.
Pat was on my list of guys to call, I know and deal with Pat a lot. Pat didn't have what I needed, Phil at Whiting farms didn't either, however I did find what I wanted and now need to tie up 50-60 look a-like Cam Sigler bill fish flies for my Guatemala trip in January.
Carl, I've been using whiting bird fur for big streamers. It's relatively inexpensive, and I have some that's 12" long. Their extra select schlappen might be an option too, though it's kinda pricey.
