Guys after 6 months off the water and being stuck in my house for the past 2 weeks I've decided it's time. I've seen 8 surgeons from Texas, Jacksonville, Charlotte, and Atlanta. Doc at Emory told me to live with it and keep taking oxycodone.😡 Long story short I have to raise up some $ so I can get 2 disk replaced. Please share the linc. Thanks for your help.

I had surgery at the one in Cleveland ... first rate on every level.
It wasn't back surgery. Some ENT stuff.
I was the same way ready go out back and end it all so much pain. Never taken a pain pill since the surgery not even an aspirin.
If anyone else has been through this surgery any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My only suggestion is to listen to some cool soothing music at night. That helped me a little during my recent stay in the hospital with extreme pain in my right thigh arising from a herniated disc pinching a nerve. By far the worst pain I've ever felt.
Thank you Gardawg. She had the surgery on Wednesday (11/2) - Spinal fusion on L4-L5 and L5-S1. It has been a very tough couple of days. She's in excruciating pain. She nor I expected it to be this bad. When she had the fusions done in her neck in '06 that was ezpz compared to this lumbar spinal surgery. The Doctor said the surgery went very well. He said while during surgery they had a computer hooked up to her spinal cord and everything was monitored and reported great. He also said he could see all the nerves and everything was excellent when he stitched her incision up. Thursday morning the physical therapist had her up and walking with the assistance of a walker. Doctor said it's going to be a tough couple of weeks for recovery. Full recovery is 4-6 months. I sure hope she's able to be discharged tomorrow. Staying by her side in the hospital 24/7 has been a nightmare on me--very sleep deprived and the feeling of helplessness with seeing your loved one in so much pain. Once discharged the doctor has setup in-home healthcare for her for a couple of weeks. Prayers and well wishes for anyone going through this kind of stuff.

“As a rule of thumb, weight loss is generally 75 percent diet and 25 percent exercise. An analysis of more than 700 weight loss studies found that people see the biggest short-term results when they eat smart. On average, people who dieted without exercising for 15 weeks lost 23 pounds; the exercisers lost only six over about 21 weeks. It’s much easier to cut calories than to burn them off. For example, if you eat a fast-food steak quesadilla, which can pack 500-plus calories, you need to run more than four miles to ‘undo’ it!
“So, what should you eat? It’s true that low-carb diets tend to be the most popular because they offer the fastest results, but they can be difficult to sustain. I recommend striving for a more balanced plan that focuses on fruits and veggies, lean proteins and whole grain carbs. And never cut calories too low (this causes your metabolism to slow, and you can start losing muscle mass). For a healthy daily calorie count, allow 10 calories per pound of body weight — so a 150-pound woman should shoot for a 1,500-calorie target. That way, you should be able to lose weight no matter how much you exercise.”
