My wife has the tracking on our boy's on the Iphone. Rarely used, and my 14 yr old has been out of town with his sports team and debate team pretty much every other weekend since June. He spent a week in August in North Carolina with his cross country team training in the hills. All we ask is he checks in with us once a day. If he doesn't answer his phone, she checks where he is, and then we see his phone is in a parking lot and they are usually training up in a hill area.

This ^^^ having a cell phone is like having an electronic leash anyways. Kids gotta grow up and parents gotta worry and fret, it's Gods way of making us old.

Kids pretty much have their morals and ideals by the time they are 14 or 15 years old. 16 year olds with cars should be initially checked only because it is a huge responsibility, but 17 year olds are for the most part adults. I plan to let my kid have her freedom at 17 just so she is responsible at 18 in college.

I don't track them but they have cell phones that have good coverage.
Wife works at the same school that the youngest goes to.
I changed my go to work time to come close to matching our oldest time to drive to school that is only a few miles away from my shop.

I haven't read the posts yet...the idea scares me, although I have thought about it.

I trust my son, as much as anyone can. He has reasons to be straight and really spends too much time home and in the house, if you ask me. So I see him most of the time and we work on his stock car together...it, it's the cyber crap they could be doing that scares me the most. Data print for life...I mean, tell me that if we had the current social media, smart phones we wouldn't have explored the limits a time or two, communicated with our "girlfriend"...

Next thing you know a youth with still really no clue, becomes part of the system.

Yes, I will tell her…we’ve already discussed it. I trust her 100%, it’s the sicko predator mf’ers out there that I do not trust. She is a very pretty, very petite girl that would be easy picken’s for a predator. You are kidding yourself if you don’t think they’re out there and you don’t think it could happen to your kids. That’s what worries me more than anything.

I think I’ll trust my gut on this one, I’ve heard good thing on the Life 360

Most predators get close and know the victim. They befriend the victim and develop trust, then try and turn them. You'd be better off teaching her how men manipulate young naive girls.

Yup way true, random stuff is just that. I raised two girls, eldest was harder for me. No tracking, nothing but both
drove street legal dirt bikes at 15 after I trained them first, tough girls. Cars no issue after that. Eldest just got a MS and a soon child....I am to going to spoil him/her to no avail,,,daughter is going to be pissed
