I loathe that vise, but that being said I probably sell one every 8-10 days. I wouldn't buy an aluminum hammer, and I'm not sure what kind of thinking is behind making a vise almost entirely out of aluminum. They work, jaws are flat, no grooves, and it turns on teflon bushings, not bearings.
Any suggestions on a better vise in the same price range?
Regal medallion or dyna king trekker, both are a few dollars more than the renzetti, but you get ball bearings and steel. The DK is stainless, the regal is tool steel (meaning it will rust if you live beachside).
The regal and dyna king are going to be too much $$ for me. Gotta have money left for more materials, and expensive hooks.
Thinking I am just going to go with the rezetti. After reading many reviews online it seems like most everyone who owns one likes them. ODC maybe you can talk my boss into adding some more 0's to the end of my paycheck so I can get a nice dyna king.
Hey greenie, get a part time job at a fly shop or bass pros then you can huge discounts on all your tackle.
I would except the closest shop is 45 min away and I would spend all my savings on gas driving.

The only way you're getting a "huge discount" working at a shop is through manufacturers programs, which are given at the reps discretion. Last I heard bass pro employees get 10% off, with a little extra help on their own brand. Priorities Bob. Lots of people like to complain about the price of gear from a 700$ phone.
My current full time position is enough for me. Plus if I take a part time job that would cut into my fishing/tying time and we just can't have that.
I got the renzetti and so far I like it but I've only had a chance to tie 2 small dock light flies so far. What impressed me most was I ordered it from Ole Florida Fly Shop and they had it shipped to me the next day and shipping cost nothing.
Dang Bill, I thought it was better than that. Never mind. Like Greenie said we don't want to cut into our time on the water.
When is the next tying class down there?
