Help - New Computer for Photo Editing

I'm in the market for a new computer for photo editing and truly do not know where to start. I have only owned PCs thus far (never a Mac), but most people I talk to recommend that I move to an iMac 27" Retina 5K. What do you guys recommend? Thanks, Michael.

Well most computers with adequate RAM are good. It is the software you use that does the editing.

I agree with Flash. They have always said that the Macs are soooooo much better when it comes to editing, but in the end, resolution, lighting and steady hands always prevail when it comes time to print something. Of course, i am no pro, and don't know what your plans are; hobby, recreational or professional. That may make a difference, but if you are the one footing the bill, I would get memory, storage, and spend my money on software. The last time I invested, I went Lenovo, and never looked back. If this diess tonight, I will order another one. Before you buy software for your new purchase, try NIK Suite. At one time it was top end priced, but Google bought them, and offer it free. For the price, it is very impressive. https://www.google.com/nikcollection/
