Reel cleaning

boanroboanro Posts: 201 Officer
How long should it take to have reels cleaned? I dropped 7 conventional reels off 18 days ago and they are still not ready. Not just that this seems like too long, but the guy in the shop where I dropped them said it would be 4 to 5 days. I know he sends them out, so I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience in dropping them off for cleanings. Yes, I know I should probably do it myself and I guess next time I will.

I am from Tampa and use a guy (he only does high line reels..Shimano, Penn, etc but know he won't do Okuma) in Masyrkytown and it takes a full two weeks, sometimes a bit more. I had used Southeastern Liquidators previously and since they changed guys I am not happy. I have never used Tampa outfitters but know they do cleanings as well.

Well, I spoke with them and they spoke with whoever it is that does their service. I let them know that I have a trip planned for Friday and needed them back before then. So it looks like I should have them on Thursday. So 3 weeks. This was with the shop on Osbourne in Tampa

I work at the store in Holiday where Tampa sends their reels for service. Right now we are running about 2 weeks for service, depending upon parts, maybe longer. 7 reels is a full day's work for one of our two techs. PM me your name and the make, model of reels and I'll try to find out about them tomorrow. I only work M, T, and W.
