1000w magnetron runs about 15:min a week the small monochrome clock runs 24/7.

So, if you move the clock and put it on the shelf or on top of the refrigerator instead of on the microwave, does it use the same amount of electric?  What if you use a battery clock, or a wind-up kind?

So California is going to ban clocks on microwave ovens? Are they going to ban them all the appliances too? Wouldn't want any feelings hurt.
