to insure or not?

copout@castaways[email protected] Posts: 5,779 Admiral
We're leaving Metro PCS, just can't deal with getting vmails & texts days after they are sent anymore. :banghead

AT&T is offering free Iphone 3s with similar plans to what our usage is now for just $35 more month.
The insurance is $6.99 per phone a month with a deductible of $199.

Do I get the insurance or are used/replacement phones easy to by?

The Iphone will be a giant leap from what we are using now.....:thumbsup

    I don't have phone insurance...but $199 seems very expensive for a deductible.

    I'd pass on the insurance.

For 199.99 whats the point. I think Best Buy has their own insurance for less, check it out. 6.99 a month is 84.00 plus 199.99. You can almost buy a new one for that. I will tell you get a case as soon as you get it and a protective screen sheild. You can buy a Iphone3 for 200.00 or less anywhere used...

Otterbox it and skip the insurance. The Apple store can fix most problems pretty cheap. They fixed my buddy's wife's cracked screen on he iPhone 4 for free. You will regret getting the 3g when you could pay $99 and get the 4. It is worth the upgrade.

They didn't offer the 4 or any deals with it. I'll skip the insurance, it's not really me I'm worried about..... it's little miss where did I leave my phone!

If you get the 4 or 4s, get the Liferpoof case. No looking back!

Tater will hate this, but they have a free feature that comes with the phone called "find my iPhone". You turn it on when you set it up, it's one of the first things it asks during setup. Turn it on and you will always be able to find that puppy, unless the battery dies of course.

Don't all phones have that? Even my winphone does. Friend of mine forgot her iphone at the car rental place and of course they couldn't find it. The Apple store reminded here about the feature, she called the sheriff and they went with her to get it. THe "kid's" mom yelled at him about she knew no one gave him an iphone.

HTC EVO has it as well.

If thinking of AT&T, not to badmouth them (wife's employer), if you use a lot of data, expect it to slow down towards the end of the month.

Sprint has the cheaper plan, considering their true unlimited plan, and also sport the new iPhone 4s (if you must).
