Looks like prices have come way down, just wondering what experience you guys have had. Dont need anything too fancy, just everyday stuff along with pics. Thanks in advance.

I'm still trying to make my wireless HP a wireless printer. Don't know if it's a firewall issue or something else. I spend about two hours with it one night.

The reason we bought wireless is because the Lexmark we had used printer cartridges almost as expensive as a new HP printer.

If you have a laptop with wi-fi do you have to use a router with those ?

Had not so good luck with an HP (this was several years ago), but good luck with the cannon. $100 and works like a charm... prints nice pix too.

I agree. I have an HP at home and hate it. The Canon is a much better printer IMHO, and scans better too.

I have to reset our wireless lexmark/dell every now and then other than that these models SUCK.
I love my cannon but it's wired and the ink ain't free.

My wireless printers won't do adhoc (computer to printer mode).. Only to a access point. BlueTooth works directly.

I am pleased with my Canon wireless. Can print from my laptop and tablet which are not hardwired into my network, so the wireless feature is really nice as the computer the printer is attached to doesn't run 24x7.

Hundreds of post online about the HP printers not staying attached to the network. I've fought with it for probably over 20 hours, and finally gave up and ran the network cable to it.

DO NOT BUY HP IF YOU WANT YOUR WIRELESS PRINTER TO WORK WITHOUT A NETWORK CABLE.

other than the wireless debate, is there a home office type printer that doesn't need and F & I manager to approve loans for ink? I have a HP 6480 all in one, and get maybe 75 pages before its toast. Tried the real ones, the off brand ones and the refills, they all suck, with the offbrand cartridge about the best.

Canon. Very cheap ink and individual cartridges.
I mean Apple get and Apple Stylewriter.. they're awesome and require no ink or paper and they print babies and puppies.

If you already have a wireless router, just plug a network enabled printer into it. I have several running that way. The only advantage I see to a wireless printer is the ability to place it far away from the router, and I need the exercise anyway.

The last printer i boughrt i walked into the store and looked for the cheapest best value ink. Then i asked the sales person to sell me the printer for that ink.
ink is like 10 bucks and i get about 120 copies.

I have a <$100 Canon wireless laser printer. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed and low toner use. Don't remember the number and I'm not at home to look at it.

I was installing cable tv-wifi modems this year for a brighthouse contractor. Most poeple could not get the wireless printers to work. Didn't notice the brand and got the hell out of there fast.

The cheaper HP ones suck and lose their IP frequently as mentioned. The full blown copier/scanner/fax/printer HP models do not seem to have that issue... or at least mine doesn't.

I have a couple HP wireless printers I got for $99.00 when purchasing a couple of laptops in the last 2 years.

They were rebated back, so cost me nothing for the printers.

    Both work very well

Mine is an HP 8500 Pro and it has the wireless issue. Almost all of the HP models 2 years ago had the issue if you were running anything but very basic security/encryption

So just turn off security and broadcast your SSID to everyone and problem solved. Lol / at least till you come home and your wife finds a naked pic printed out from some neighborhood script kiddie wanna be hacker.

That was the solution the HP tech gave me when I called support. Told him he was an idiot

How old is that machine? I was seriously considering one of these. I'm wondering if they are any better now. Seems like a simple issue to fix.

It's about 3 years old. Last I looked (when I moved here in April) for a firmware update, people were still having problems with them. It's a great printer, but if you need the wireless, then I would pass one it.

That sucks. I would prefer wireless. Doesn't make sense that they couldn't solve that problem. Any idea how well the whole "air print" thing works, or did that come after you bought yours?

Air Print, isn't that apple? No clue if how it works with HP

Yeah, Apple. Me either, but it seemed like it had potential.
