7/28 LWI Late Afternoon Trolling
Decided to take advantage of all the good intel on the BFT off the Breakers area. Left the inlet around 6:30 pm and hooked up to our first bonita in about 20 minutes and and then acquired our targeted species 10 minutes later. Blackfin was only around 2 lbs or so. Both were in about 100 ft of water and both hit a white daisy chain. Trolled for about another 2 hours with only one more hit. This time it came on a split tail mullet down deep. Fish took about 300 yards off and then the line broke. I have a feeling I know what that one was, unfortunately. I'll nail that wahoo next time though. Thanks to Captain James of Controlled Chaos for the tips on the right gear!
