I have a friend with a version 1 of the 300mm f/2.8 for sale. He is in Deland, if that matters.
Asking $1,800. A superb deal. The lens is in nice shape and comes with the hard box.

it is a good deal, but i'll pass...
with the crazy high iso that I can shoot at with both of my bodies, f2.8 in a 300mm just isn't a "gotta have it" sort of thing...
you have a good holiday weekend as well....
wet willie is playing in the downtown park for free tomorrow evening...it will be a good show and great music...
