Thats what I call your mom

Griz, I'd like to report this as a disgusting attempt at a mom joke. Probation is in order. My mom's been female most of her life.

    Folks,

I am just about to finish up a 20 year law enforcement career and really want to make the move to Florida, wondering what kind of job prospects are out there? I will be 44 y.o and still healthy, thought about working as a LEO down there but after 20 years I have had my fill. Looking for suggestions :) was thinking maybe postal worker but I don't know. Open to suggestions that I could look into, thanks!

Did you make sure to work as much overtime in the last year to bump your retirement as high as possible ?
It is a good thing that you guys get to retire after that much time of putting your life on the line. You deserve it...
What are you thinking about ? The retire officer on Big brother started his own dog grooming business. Hope you find something you really like. I would give some thought to joining a beach side police squad. Ft. Pierce, Stuart, type, small town with little problems and residential away from the big city's. Jacksonville, Tampa, FT Lauderdale, Miami, all yuk !
Whatever you do, make sure you are within 3 miles of the beach when you move here. Anything outside of 4 miles, you may as well be in Okeechobee... The heat in the summer (may 1st - late Sept) is Harsh. My father in the northeast insisted that 90 degrees is the same in Delaware as it is in Florida..:rotflmao The difference is when you wake up in the Northeast during summer mornings, the temp is 72 and dry, heat comes at noon. Here, it is 80 and full humid at 7 am and 90 by 10 o'clock. Big difference ! If you are close enough to the water, it is much less a factor in y opinion...

Or, just happen to think (and it hurt!), perhaps some of the armored car companies may
    need someone?

I interviewed one of them several years ago for an IT position.

That seems to be a good industry and unfortunately, they hired someone else at the time.

Again, just a thought and best of luck to you.

That does look like a low presser job, I would think awareness would be the biggest part of that job.

TSA? Apparently they have most of the security at Gov't offices. Was talking to security guy at the local Social Security office. He's a gov't employee but works for TSA. We was previously a FL Prison guard.
