Just looked at the river cam in Homosassa :hairraiser
SOOOO sorry for you guys that have to live in that. Going to head east around Matanzas for a bit. Maybe a little more frogging here in the cool of the night, soak some crickets for breams. Anything to stay away from that madness.
Draw back for living in the middle of the state is the drive. Right now the benefit is having the option.

I pretty much avoid all the major ports during scallop season myself, especially Homosassa and CR. All the little backwoods boat ramps nobody wants to use are home to me! There are places to find fish and scallops that aren't massively populated it just takes some logistics sometimes.

I agree, and not only on weekends, but during the week days as well. TOO many non boaters and real boaters with a big boat, trying to use the river. I guess it makes money for the repair guy. Having said that, it is fun just to go, drink a beer and watch the mess.
