Sailfish Sighting

We went out yesterday 6/23/2016 out of Clearwater Marina and sighted a Sailfish about 15-20 miles offshore. The fish came up right next to the boat and we could see she was about 12'. Then on the way in we saw another one just cruising about 2' under the surface less than 10 miles offshore. Absolutely amazing thing to see around here.

Has anyone else spotted any Sailfish lately?

Heh heh heh, that was my first thought. Back to the point though, we saw a pair of sails together lazing around on the surface a couple of weeks ago (last day of red snapper) on our way back in. We were in about 90' of water. No live bait (some scumbag emptied the bait pen the night before) and they had zero interest in dead sardines.

Saw a 10 ft down in West Palm one tourney back in the 80's.. Big fish for sure..Think it went for 114 lb.. Longest I ever caught was during an SAA tourney back then as well but it was only 7' and a few inches.. Water does make em look bigger...but Always cool to hear about game fish close by... Like Bonefish as well up in the Tampa sand flats..

Didn't Ernest Hemingway catch a world record down in the Keys?? Like 12 or 13 ft long?? There's a picture of it somewhere...
