Float Like a Butterfly

mplspugmplspug Posts: 16,016 AG
Just discovered this section. I'm a very amateur photographer, but sometimes my camera makes up for my shortcomings.

This is photo is cropped a little. I just started shooting away following her as she fluttered around the orange tree laying eggs. I figured I'd get lucky if I shot enough. This was the best one.

I'm looking forward to following this section and contributing when possible.

A butterfly in flight is a tough shot to get. Good catch.

i'll tell you that sometimes I see something that MAY happen and lean on the shutter at 8fps hoping that maybe, just maybe...one will be good...

    Wow nice shot.
Since you're new to photography do you know what it means to shoot RAW instead of shooting your images as JPG files?

With my background I do know what raw image files are. I haven't given it a thought until now. Thanks!

Curious of you see something in the photo that tipped you off that it was not saving out as raw?

Now you have me thinking it's time to buy an Adobe Subscription and start using Lightroom to process raw files.

maybe he saw something in the image that was a tad off that you may corrected during developing from RAW to jpg.

if you use adobe's new subscription service at $10.00 a month, you get the latest and greatest lightroom, photoshop, and bridge...
adobe will up grade your software when new modifications are made or the software is upgraded for free...
I still use my topaz labs plugins like denoise (which is the best there is) and I use their (topaz) B&W the most....

I also believe google is still offering NIK software plugins for free (at least up through last week anyway) and they are very good products that used to cast a small fortune...
there is a link to the site that Water posted called PSA *something*. go back a few pages...

    hope some of this helps....

    Thanks!

Topaz, that name brings me back when I worked backing up files at a printer. I think it was topaz anyway.
