Garmin 540S Depth Finder Not Reading

Had boat re-wired and flush mounted Garmin combo GPS (540S) and sonar unit. Sonar reads water temp, but depth blinks at 0.0 ft. Does not read depth. Transducer is flat positioned, so I check that (was knocked at angle before). Re-connected 12-pin this morning, same thing. Any ideas?
