Yellowfin Tuna for the Kids

Went over to the channel this past weekend. Joseph wanted to put one of his little buddies on the tuna.

Bite was tough in the channel as you've seen from several reports but we did manage to bend some rods and bring home three 60-70 lbers and a couple of smaller fish (yft, bft, dollies etc.).

Joseph and his little buddy...

Lol. You are the man........trained by the man of course. Boy can you and Joesph put fish in the boat even when it's tough for others. Well done and way to hook another youngster in the process.

Awesome trip. Love me some tuna. Also funny seeing chicken wings on the counter. For some reason, every time I fish, I want some darn wings.

Can I ask how far offshore you were to get these tuna? Or how far offshore in general you have to go for yellowfin?

Great job. Can't figure out why the YF in Tuna Alley don't like trolled baits. Seems like chunking is mostly what works.

It was very nice meeting you as well. Thank you for coming by. Yes we had that one big one on Sat. Then Sunday we found the right school. Had four on at once. With 2 kids, we only landed 2 alas! But who's complaining...
