Interesting info, yet I could only read part of it, way too long, tiny font on gray...I usually just read Ken Rockwell's reviews when I'm shopping...or dreaming.

Not sure why your linked page has all those comparisons of the D5 to the D500, like they're even in the same area code of cameras.

I'm currently looking for a new body...camera too...

I've been thinking D750, so a few things I've noticed between the D750 and the the D500.

    The D500:
Same larger body style as the D700, D800, D810
10 FPS which is great for some people
DX: why bother if you have all FX lenses like I do
No built in flash, which ends it for me, I use mine quite often on my 700 and 800. Lugging speed lights around is not fun at all.
    Around $2

    D750:
    FX! Of course!
Same smaller body style as the D7000, D600 series. Lighter, cheaper feeling. Not happy about this.
    Built-in flash. Lifesaver.
6.5 FPS. Plenty for me. I almost never shoot in CH or CL
Articulating screen, great for shooting real low, or real high...I just guess on those shots now. Too old to be bending over

BEST OF ALL: Nikon USA and BH have the 750 with a 24-105 ($1k value) for $2300 still.

But you are not a bird or sports shooter. That is the point of the D500 to get all those pixels on a fast moving something far away.

The D750 in DX ode gives something like a 10 Mpix file, but it has a 1.2 crop mode too.

The D750 is a great camera. I have one. But the burst rate is nothing compared to the D500......the right tool for the right job.

I shoot a fair amount of sports, but I prefer to wait for the perfect shot, rather than just mashing down the button and getting a bunch of shots, none of which might be at the right spot in time.

Plus I absolutely hate culling through excessive amounts of similar shots.

Looks great, not that I am shooting much sports anymore. Maybe if I part with the Camaro someday?? :shrug

You let me know if you want to see that Camaro go to a good home. It's basically my dream car
