Boca 4/29/16

Got out at 5am to try and catch gogs with very little luck, got 3 just south of the inlet in 15ft of water. Then ran out to 65ft and no luck. Once the sun came up we hit the inlet and loaded up on pilchards in about 30 minutes before heading back out. We set up in 250 just south of the inlet with 3 kite baits, 2 flat lines and a deep bait. First drift was weird drifted south pretty fast and no bites. Second drift we ran north an set up off of san remo in 200 we had a Bonita hit a kite bait and then in 180 we got a 20lb bull on a pilchard from the kite. After that we headed in to get to work. Anyone catching gogs? if so what depth?

Gogs have been very finicky. Two or three weeks ago I got 15 in around 50 ft out the inlet early morning. A week ago, nothing!
Where did you find the pilchards. Size? Cast net or sabiki?
