Beer from Long Island, New York might be a hard sell around here.

Patchogue isn't exactly famous for its amber waves of grain or sweet spring water.

There are so many so called Micro brewers popping up all over the world that one could drink a different one every day and never taste them all. Hell, this stands true for just one country Belgium LOL. Some area great, some are well not to my taste.

But where it all started. Wish I could find more of the Brooklyn brews here. Brooklyn Winter Ale and Brown Ale are quite good.

    What happened to Rock_fish?
Did he drown while taking a beer shower?

I believe it was a beer shower (or is that shower beers) that killed him. He will one day be resurrected, I'm sure.

I checked the Pinellas County Police reports yesterday and did not see any reports of a white male geologist found bludgeoned to death with his own craft beer bottles. So hopefully he's alive an well.

Blue Point Toasted Lager has been one of my favorites for a few years. It's been available at most places around here for a while.

I need you to interpret this for me...
Was it good or was it bad?

I've tried it and like it.

What a *** means to me is that I will drink it, but rarely buy it if I can find others. This one is getting close to a 4, which I will readily buy. It is our favorite Bluepoint beer of those we have tried.

    Ah!
OK... I get it.... asterisks are stars and you gave 3-3/4 out of 5 ( that's like a B-). I wasn't sure if you were using a word that got filtered. And your wife drinks beer...that's cool. Most women I know don't care for it....

So we agree that it's pretty good for a beer that is reasonably priced and fairly available.

I like to drink beer right before and with dinner.
I really like trying new beers, so this craft beer trend is great in my opinion.

If you could have any beer....lager...pilsner....ale...you pick it. What would you like to have, and when would you like to have it?

Yeah, I can see that. Not sure why we got ride of our Stars. We do the mix 6 at ABC and are at 395 beers now. Lots of crap out there. Of course everyones taste is different but we do not care for the bitter stuff and I would not doubt some of the earlier ones we really liked may not rank as high on the list now. Someday we will go back thru them. We tend to like the Lagers and Ales.

    Barrel Trolley Amber.
    Blue Moon Regular and Wheat
    Brooklyn Brown Ale
    Drop Top Amber Ale
    Franziskamer Weussbier
    Hobgoblin Dark English Ale
    Maudite Ale
    Moerlein Fifth
    PranQster Belgian Style Ale
    Redhook ESB Original Ale
    Roscoe's Hop House Amber Ale
    Shiner Black Lager and Bock
    Shock Top
    War of 1812 Amber.

Our go to's at the bars.... Shock Top, Amber Bock, Dos Equis dark

I think I have seen that at the local beer purveyor. I'll pick some up next time.
Flash ....I have tried 4 on that list...
The ESB has been a favorite, my go to beer at Publix. ESB is an acronym ....Extra Special Bitter. I don't find it bitter at all. Not like an IPA.
I try to avoid the hoppy beers, there OK somtimes but not wth food.
I will make a note to try the Franziskamer Weussbier......sounds good to me.....must be my Prussian heritage.

Stopped at the beer store on the way home and saw the Kentucky Bourbon barrel ale.....
Good thing I had also purchased 6 of the Spaten Optimator (dopplebock) out of Munich.

The bourbon beer did not meet my expectations...what I thought would be a hint of bourbon was unmistakably bourbon...like a half a shot in the beer. Too much in my opinion. But I have three left I will try it under different circumstances and maybe it will appeal to me.

The Spaten has been a favorite...one I haven't picked up in a few years.

This beer is heavy, dark and sweet.
Might want to give it a try..

    Big sky brewing co.

Moose Drool. American Brown ale, lip smacking.

But sometimes I like hops, Dales Pale Ale.

Last time i was in Chesterfield, I ran across one called "Legend" I think it was the brown ale. I was impressed.
You don't have to go far to find good brew these days.

    Very true, an excellent beer.
Microbreweries are popping up all around us up here, it's very nice!

Try the Oak Barrel Stout next time too.

I love beer, it makes me a jolly good fellow.
