Headed out with a good friend today (Flat Yakkin) and found barely any fishable conditions out there.... very faint rips... only some slight broken slicks all the way out to PBH. Came back in shallower and stopped on a spot we caught some fish last time and put out a spread of live baits.
Ive been experimenting with unconventional lures to have tied on a pitch rod for Phins or cobes and some other apps... one of which is a DOA airhead on a 3/4oz jig. Decided to get on the bow and blind cast it and the 3rd one it gets hammered.... lots of frothing headshakes then seconds later a nice bull goes airborne.
Over the course of the ext several hours it was slow.. Flat ended up hooking up with 2 good gaffer cows one was successfully landed the other thrashed off the gaff wrapping the line around it and popping it.
Hit the sandpile pretty quiet there and we didnt see any cobes at all, just sharks.
