Decided to head out with the wife today in search of some new bottom fishing. Even with the dolphin bite going off, we decided to stick to bottom fishing all day and see what we could find. Got up much later than normal to see storms off shore in Ft. Pierce and decided to sleep for another hour and were greeted with clear skies.
We cleared the inlet to calm seas and headed to our first spot. First drop and a double Lane Snapper of some of the largest Lanes I have ever seen and I knew it would be a great day. We stuck to our plan as the bite held all morning and didn’t cut off till about 2:00 when we were ready to head in. We worked about 4-5 spots between 65 and 100 north of the inlet and heard plenty of friends filling their boats. Congrats to everyone working the hot dolphin bite. Hopefully I can get some homework done during the week and head out this weekend.
I saw you north of of the sandpile but I saw a diver down flag near you. Did you try some spearing?

Hey Stephen,
No, some jackwaggon pulled up on Lana and I and dropped a flag as he fooled around getting their diving gear ready. I wasn't moving as the fishing was hot and he never dove and came and picked his flag up. Guess I could have shared the reef was full of cobia they just wouldn't bite was I was offering. Hell, I got them to swim right up to the boat, just couldn't hook em.
