PSLI Bait?

Hey guys I know this type of info is kept tight to the vest, but a buddy and I are headed over to Jensen next weekend and want to find some pilchards to take off shore. Last time I was there we went out to bull shark and sabikied up some bait, but wanted to try and cast net enough to try and do some live chumming. Are there any flats you can chum up pilchards on, or would anyone be willing to give a little info on where some pilchards might be. I would be very appreciative and more than willing to trade some spots/info if you ever head over to Tampa or Ft. Myers. Thanks!

Been here 6 years and can say I have yet to found anything worth focusing on as far as cast netting Pilchards. I catch most of my bait at places like Bullshark and occasionally get some Pilchards but certainly can't count on them. I would love to find them for live chumming in the islands as well.

Thanks for the help. I've caught them in the inlet before with my 12ft net. It was like 4 yrs ago. It seems like they are just hit or miss...

Once or twice I have seen Pelicans diving in bait, on my run out. Most of the time they are too shallow to chance in my boat, but if I had a skiff I would have checked them out. I have caught Greenies by some of the bridges on occasion, but again wouldn't want to count on them.

Are you throwing on the pilings of the bridge or the flats arrive the bridge?
