Stud Bull Dolphin and Snook - SI inshore and offshore report 4/24

Gotta love the Space Coast in the spring time! The great weather this weekend allowed me to enjoy some of the best fishing this area has to offer. Took my friend Scott snook fishing inshore on Saturday morning and two friends dolphin fishing offshore on my bay boat out of Sebastian Inlet on Sunday morning. My monster fish bag was full with 120lbs of dolphin by 10:00am this morning. Quit fishing at 10:30am. Kept 6 fish. Smallest went 14lbs; did not get a verified weight on the bull, bottomed out my 30lb boga.

I figured sticking the fish was the least I could do after forgetting the fighting belts when loading my boat. Dan fought the fish for 35 minutes with no belt. The bull was definitely a "bad mama jama". Dan fought it for 25 minutes with 8lbs of drag, before reluctantly bumping the lever drag up to 14lbs on the Avet LX and it still took another 10 minutes before I was able to sink the steel.
