Hit the north end of the lagoon today. For my first fishing trip that wasn't the shrimping or gigging stlye. Broke out the hook and line and got off to a slow start at spot 1. Tide was coming in steady and began fishing a creek mouth with a missed hookup and then a boat comes out the mouth and the bay begins to fill up with a few boats so we begin to work our way out and pick up a few trout off some oyster bars. Nothing big but low slots, and I can't believe it, but I released them. Then tried some other creek areas with no luck. It had the look of an area where fish were very full from the night feeding lately. Lots of bait but it wasn't being harassed by anything other than a few juvenile porpises. Headed out of the skinny water to some structure with the current ripping and managed a few ladyfish and a keeper bluefish.

The trout caught on a mirrodine, and the blue on a mud minnow. Had a few other bites but just couldn't seem to find a hookset and that rounded out the morning and we headed in around 11. Nice weather, just didn't find many fish chewing today. Water was not as dirty as it has been, relatively speaking, but it is still grossly brown. I think I may be getting used to nasty water....
