Nice. Where did you fish? Would like to know a little bit more about how you jig the pads too. Use a cork? Or just dip a jig down here and there around pads until you get a bite?
Nice haul. I put out a bunch of Christmas trees in the lake near my house, haven't fished them yet but need to get out there and hit it. I usually just troll slowly with a curly tailed jig behind the canoe, when it passes over the trees I usually get a hit. They don't hit hard just the rod starts to bend and then you can feel the weight on the line. they don't seem to fight much until they get close to the boat. Good eatin though.

these colors are my go to jigs..I just tightline the jig down and bounce it a few times..they seem to hit on the first drop this weekend so it made it a little faster than usual..
great job RB, I don't think you need any help, but for everyone else!!!
if you troll ( long line trolling ) with curly tails let me give you a brand and color that is absolutely working for me.

Thanks for the tip, I have been using a clear colored jig with a white head. What color of water are you in, my lake is not tannic, it goes from clear but due to the increase in houses over they years is more green these days, with all the rain it is now a brownish green.
Well I went to their web site (Southern pro) and I could not find that color listed.?

i been fishing in various conditions, lake Santa fe, Crescent, dead lake and Magnolia lake. water conditions have varied and they have worked. I always start with a mix of colors and as I see which ones are getting hit the most and I start changing to that color. this year
the Weiss Lake killer have been the winner by far.
my biggest issue is keeping the boat in the right track and speed with the wind we been having.
