soft plastic ballyhoo

Anyone ever tried using an artificial soft plastic swimbait or Ballyhoo in their trolling spread?

Went with a friend that used them all the time, i didn't think we would catch a thing but did. We ended up with a half dozen gaffers in the box that day!
I use them for a teasers when I troll and will put one on a down rigger occasionally. Also, I have used them when trolling faster then you would with natural baits and have never caught anything with them on my own boat. I still have to use the real thing when I set a trolling spread.

I only tried them a few times and never had a hit. Bluewaterfever's buddy must have the magic boat.

I have one in my tackle box, have used it before and caught with it.

Seems they create a reaction bite, but if the fish takes a look for any amount of time or bites and doesn't hook they are gone. Not bad to have one for backup though.
