WAHOO ACTION - WEST END 2-29-16

Since we're running out of good descriptive nouns - yes "slaughter", "destruction" and "spankdown" were all taken - I'll bring it back down to earth...

Ran across on Monday morning with a small crew including Capt Dave and Soflah. It was a little bumpier than forecast but we plowed through and got to West End in just under 2 hours.

Checked in, topped off and got out hunting. Looking for the right conditions led us north of Memory. Pounded that area between 100' and 400' running big lures at 15 knots. We steadily picked at them and put 8 fish in the box (7 hoos and 1 fat king).

Running back home was smooth. Enjoyed a pretty sunset...

Paul, I can't thank you enough for dragging me along on this run. It was such a blast laughing the entire day with you and Tom, all while spanking the hoos good. It's amazing what can happen when a few guys get together than know the drill. Going 8 for 8 on all our bites made me a very happy camper. Talk about efficiency!

Tom, it was so great to finally meet you as that was LONG overdue. You did a great job in the pit on the rods and gaff.

what swivel tip is that on your rods? I currently have a bent butt with a roller tip and I have to be very careful that the rod is straight back--the sides of the tip will saw right through braid if not careful

Congrats Paul and Checked Out crew on a successful fishing trip! Paul, I thought that you had electrics?
I noticed that Eric is verifying that you fished near Memory as well. I still need more proof that you fished that area. Maybe an image of Memory Rock, while holding a recent newspaper, would convince me lol

Thanks guys. Over the last couple of years that and tuna fishing have become my favorite fisheries and I try to get there as often as the weather and schedule allow.
