Private Home dock fishing license?

TriguyTriguy Posts: 204 Deckhand
I live in memphis, tn and frequent the St Pete beach area several times a year. I will be coming down for the month of december and flying my kids in for a few days. I always have a license but read a post on someones VRBO site that said you didn't need a license to fish from their dock at their home. I can't find anything that says this is true and don't understand why he would say this. Am I correct in saying everyone that fishes on a private dock (unless it's a pier with their own license) needs to have a valid florida fishing license?
