Home East Central General Fishing & The Outdoors

Chocolate Milk and Pompano

Lines in the water at 0700 fished till 1500. Water resembled Hershey Syrup with foamy whip cream, surf was 4-5 ft. Wind 15 plus from the S/SE. Bait: live sandfleas. All the fish were waaaaaaaaaaaay out. Six ounce sputniks held nicely. IMO this season was more consistent than all previous years.. As long as the fish are in your general area, don't worry too much about finding "picturesque water conditions" fish gotta feed everyday....Tight Lines

Nice. This year sure seems to be consistent. It seems like I can always catch enough for a dinner or two whether it's rough or flat. Maybe the stable and perfect water temps have something to do with it?

I've also noticed that when I catch fish with anything in their stomachs, they're full to the throat with crushed Donax clams.

The best method is to utilize a hot air ballon and release your bait over the 4th bar...:hairraiser

Heard the fish are heading back up north...Febuary has been an EPIC month...water temps are warming up fast, SI water temps are between
68-69 degrees...hopefully this approaching front will extend their presence. Stable and perfect water temp have been a staple of the month of February.
Btw- Saturday and Sunday are looking to be conducive to slaying some pomps.
    Tight Lines.

Yeah weekend looks good. I'm gonna hit a path through the dune veg I did good at last weekend. Hopefully there's some fleas willing to filter.
