Bass Pro Shop Spring Classic Wrap Up Feb 12-14 and Feb 19-20
Spending one weekend at the Orlando Bass Pro Shop and another weekend at the Palm Bay Bass Pro Shop, Steve (Redfinatic) and I were fortunate enough to met a lot of new people with a passion for fishing and many long time loyal Penn supporters. Mixed in this group where a few loyal Abu Garcia and Pflueger fans. These photos are some of the many anglers that stopped by to take advantage of some great deals and went home with lots of new gear. With so many new reels hitting the water I fear the fish population will take a significant hit over the coming weeks :-) I hope some of these guys show up here and post some fish pics with their new gear.

Winner of Best Fish Story: Bought this reel earlier and went surf fishing. Caught a fish that dragged the rod and reel into the surf. 3 hours later snagged the line and reeled in his new reel. Called the shop and asked how to clean it. Freddy asked what happened and told him to bring the reel back in and trade in at no charge for the same reel with a Live Liner option so it would not happen again. The reel in his hand is still dripping salt water!

It was great meeting you. You might not remember me but you were gracious enough to help me when the BPS employees were busy and I asked you for 2 shimano Chronarch CI4's. We talked briefly, you were all very busy and you told me you were part of forum admin. Even though I was buying your competition you were very gracious and didn't bad mouth them. I told you I hadn't bought a shimano in almost a decade and for some foolish reason I wanted to try them again. Well it didn't work out, as I might have suspected and the reels were quickly returned and replaced with a Clash 2500 and a Clash 3000. My arsenal of Penn's is ever growing. Also, the Berkeley and Abu reps that were at the Ft. Myers Classic with the semi and tent were a blast too. I'm glad to be a Pure Fishing customer.
I believe I remember you and it was nice to meet you. I am not the kinda guy that will push something on you just because of a name or who I am associated with. Many guys are loyal to brands and I am not going to try and change that, however I am kinda happy that you came back and traded your Shimano for Penn Clash. In the end we are all just fisherman with same passion to be on the water. Regards, Mark.
