    1. Simrad NSS evo 9 or 12
    2. Lowrance HDS gen3 9 or 12

    2. Lowrance HDS gen3 9 or 12

I second the Simrad or Lowrance. Especially with the FMT chip.

Simrad and FMT chip highly recommended - I love my fmt chip. I believe the simrad works better with the fmt chip than lowrance, but egrets landing can clarify.

I have a Lowrance HDS12 on my console and a HDS9 on my bow. The 9 is great up front but it seems so much smaller than the 12 on the console. If you are using mapping cards a lot the 12 is the way to go. I would go ahead and get the Gen 3 HDS since the processor is a good bit faster, it has built in Wi-Fi so you can download software upgrades directly from a wireless network, and the screen is supposed to be much better in sun light. Talk to Kerlee, he has had both the Gen 2 and Gen 3.
