Hot mutton bite

First time getting offshore in a couple of months due to crappy weather and employment. The target was red grouper but no such luck. We tried drifting a couple of spots with no luck. We anchored up and started catching little lanes and grunts. We all decided it was a stupid idea to stay there. We had a spot far away were this time last year we were catching large mangroves. We had the bait and the weather to do it so we went for it. Got there and bottom machine looked great. Right away the bite was on. Lots of muttons one after the other. Everybody caught a few gags each. We caught several large mangroves one enormous lane and a couple yellowtails. Some lesser AJs showed up and caught a pile of those. We also ended the trip with a keeper black grouper. We fished the last spot for about three hours and we left the fish still biting. We ended up with 31 muttons. Released a bunch in the 16'-16 1/2' and lots of smaller ones. About 10 of the muttons were in the 5-6# range. Excellent trip it was tons of fun.

This pic here the smaller mutton took the bait and the hook, line and bait went through its gills and the other one took the bait.
