2 for 4 on dolphin out of Jupiter

Cleared the inlet by 7 am to reasonably calm seas. Ran SE to 100 ft of the Juno pier and lines in. Headed due east till we found some birds and weeds between 600-650' feet. First slinger in the boat by 8 am, pulled the hook on 2 more and landed another by 9:30. After that the bite shut down. Wind picked up and conditions started to get worse. Had 2 kids in the boat and decided to call it a day at 10:30. Caught one dolphin on a split tail mullet with a black and purple ilander and one on a pink rattle jet. The knock downs were on a naked ballyhoo and on a ballyhoo with a with a pink blue and white skirt. Fish or no fish it's always hard to beat a day on the water with the kids!

Were you fishing that CC and driving from the tower? I was out on that same weedline (late) and inspite of seeing some topwater action, we couldn't get any takers.

We ended up picking some mahi up at another weedline inside of 400ft and to the North of the inlet.

Black Attack

Thanks for the post. We came off plane in about 225' just north of the pier and had a sailfish jump 10 yards from the boat. Pitched bait to it, but no luck. We fished the area for a while and didn't have any luck. Started to head offshore, but crew was queasy and getting sick. Decided to call it a day. Congrats on actually catching Mahi that day.
