Things are rough all over

S**t, it happens :grin !

A very difficult shot, at least 70/80 yards and too much woods on trajectory. I tried to place the shoot in the only little window available.
Unfortunately according to the local law rifles aren't allowed but only shotguns (with rifle it would been an easier shoot).
Anyway we found the blood and we followed the track for a couple of hours, but unsuccessful (it entered in a natural reserve and we had to stop any search).

Sometime they win, must be accepted :wink.

You could probably do better if you wore camo instead all that orange stuff......

Orange (high visibility) in mandatory by law.
And anyway I verified more than once that they don't see the orange. No noise, no smells (e.g. smoking), no movements until the right moment :wink.
As you can see very well here It escapes from the bullet (it probably hears more close the sonic bang than the muzzle bang) running exactly toward me.

Well, even this season is over :cry. I have to wait November for the next season :banghead.
Anyway it has been a good season for me; 6 killed on 8 boars I shot.

The last driven hunts in Tuscany were amazing and really funny. We have caught 17 boars on Saturday and 20 on Sunday :banana.






Personally I did a double catch on Saturday :banana but I missed the last one on Sunday (not an easy shot. It happens) :rolleyes.

You guys sure do know how to have a good time. Seems like you are harvesting mostly large hogs. If the herd demographics are like here then I imagine there must be tons of little piglets around. I have killed four on public land over the last few weeks by stalking. It would be great if we could run them with dogs.



The fourth was a large boar that the vultures helped me find the following week, hence no photo. All taken with a 22 magnum rifle.

There are dog hunts, but usually the hogs are caught or bayed by the dogs then killed. Not so much an organized drive.

Nice bull, a typical Carpathian's boar.
They are very well organized for touristic driven hunts since the era of the former Yugoslavia.
I never been there but I know a lot of Italian guys that often go hunting boars (and others) in the Balkan area (very expensive but easier).

No indeed.
During the traditional Tuscany driven hunt ("braccata" in Italian, from "bracco" generic term to define the hunting dogs) the dogs pushes the boars toward shooters; they not kill them.
