    Hahahahahahahaha...:)

Why sure he is.....there's a different "shooting etiquette" over there....and the guy who get's nothing gets to stick his fingers in his ears and stomp around old WWII mine fields looking for unexploded ones while his buddies make bets on him......:)

Are you really shooting a 30-06 in the same direction as the guy and his dog? Or does the video just make it look that way?
    First: the guy miss the boar before (you can hear his "bang" before he appears) and he left his position (not allowed) to follow the boar and try to shot it again;
    second: I shot down in a 10/12 feet deep trench and not in direction of the guy, but at his right;
third: the dog isn't the guy's dog but a team dog and it was arriving from the hill on my right following the boar track (you can understand the boar track looking at my rifle movements before the first shot) and when I shot the dog was 50/60 feet on my right (it arrived one minutes later)

Yeah shooting to the guys right is b.s. I'm going off the camera angle that is attached to your head. I would not want to be in the same woods as you guys. But I do believe if you fellas properly site in your rifles and learn a little gun safety you will live to hunt longer.

    :rotflmao

    It was a safe shot.
The guy was close to me when I shot, the fisheye of the camera catch more distance than real, the angle was more than safe. Then I shot into a deep trench, not risky at all.
Anyway I deleted the clip, no time nor desire for a flame :wink
Hope the new video (above) is better :grin

Peperoni, Cappicola, Prosciutto, Sopressa or just sausage?
As first ragù (Bolognese Sauce there) :wink

Meat minced by knife (a long and boring work but the quality of the knife mincing meat instead machine mincing meat is out of any discussion)
    2u8j8yw.jpg

Olive oil, carrot, onion, celery, garlic, rosemary, sage (and a couple of hot chili peppers :wink).
    2ai3diw.jpg

Put the meat and let dry any liquid
    2qd8o03.jpg

    Let dry
    b5s1s8.jpg

Wait until the meat is brown and pour half bottle of red wine
    ngpv9v.jpg

When the wine is gone, add the salt, pour the tomato and let cook a couple of hour slowly, mixing frequently.

Enjoy :wink (hand made pasta is mandatory)

    You know "Balla".....

That looks great buddy......we don't really have "real" Italian restaurants too much in the USA....we have lots of fake ones with Mexican cooks in them...

We have spaghetti boiling....overcharging.."Guidos" who all think the're mobsters and walk around all day saying "fergetaboutit".

Maybe you can come here and start a restaurant?..... :)

That sounds like hunting here too, I seem to always hear multiple shots at what ever they are shooting at. So far all of mine have been taken with one shot, guess I'm just lucky.

It depends. Ambushing them and shooting them when relaxed and in clear field (maybe with a scope) is really different than shooting them when they are escaping in the dense woods (as you can notice the second I shot has been invisible for the camera) with the dogs who chasing them. A 160/180 lbs boar (true boar, not a feral hog) under adrenaline has an unbelievable stamina.

If I was the guy with the dog...I would have a blaze orange jacket on....my self and the dog.
    Why 30-06?

    Why not?

Harbison will be along soon to tell him he needs a 45-70 anyway. :)

You don't really need one, Balla, it's a joke from another thread.

Fine looking Ragu - bet it tasted great. That's a lot of work to take the time to do it right.
  • surfmansurfman Posts: 6,017 Admiral
Yes, my targets are not being chased by dogs, it is usually the dog hunters that you hear unloading their weapons. :)
It is pretty dense woods where I hunt too but I usually wait until I have a clear shot. That type of hunting is definitely different. I am sure it is a lot of fun too.

Another short clip from the boar driven hunt of the last Sunday.
No images but it's possible to hear a boar (probably a old big bull) who roars and attacks the dogs :hairraiser
