Anyone do any deep dropping for tile fish in the Ft Pierce area. Got a new electric reel and was thinking about trying it out this weekend. Not looking for anyone's honey hole just some general info thanks
Try running ESE from FPI off the power plant about 720ft. When you drop the lead down and it sticks to the bottom (mud) your in the right area. Just move slightly shallower or deeper from there (700-760) if your not getting bites. If you catch one go back to the same spot as they live in colonies. But remember if you take out the colony then you need to find a new spot. They are not fast growing fish. Good luck plenty of them out there.

What ever you do, don't give anyone your numbers when you find them. I made that mistake last year and only told two friends........who told two friends, who told two friends, and to end this, I showed up on my numbers two weeks ago where I have never seen another boat and there were 7 boats in that immediate area.
Numbers are like gold anymore. My grandfather was a commercial fisherman when I was a kid and I have been sitting here with some of his old charts trying to transfer some of his old spots over hope they work out. Have you guys caught and black bellys up this way

Both the blue lines & golden colonies can get wiped out pretty easily. Once you find the resource, treat it gently.
