Offshore dirty water 1/26/16

I should have expected it to be dirty...and it was, out to at least 50'. Bad day to do a grouper trolling trip. I'm just guessing that they couldn't see what I was trolling. I don't always catch grouper this way but I can usually find something to mess with my plugs/jigs. Strange thing is that I didn't even see anything on the bottom. No fuzz or anything else. It just looked to be scrubbed clean. I suppose all the debris in the water could have interfered with the bottom machine. Who knows. I hear people were doing ok on snapper, I just wasn't interested in that yesterday. Oh well, maybe I'll give it another try next week.

I was fishing inshore yesterday. I found clean water but the bite was very slow. One snook and one trout is all I could get. I think it was just a bad bite day.

Just spoke to a friend who was also out that day. He was out 30+ miles fishing live/dead bait and got skunked also. Strange.

water is still dirty out to about 50ft. went yesterday 1/30/16.

This fresh water release from the lake has messed everything up. Going to take about month till we get back to normal is my guess.
