SAT. AM EAST OF GOODLAND

Right pretty day. Good High at 7;30 out front at **** Key. Made enough water to fish another Bay way, way inside 3 hours later, I forgot the name of it..:grin
Headed in , Clarity good sun a little low still at 10 am.
Poked around the Bay looking for Snook or them Blue Crabs Lemay keeps seeing...:banghead
Sighted up 1 Snook , Solid 15 lb., One Red bout 30'' and 3 Blue Crabs.. caught none. It was more of a High tide Look around.
Ran out Front to the backside of Sugar Bay and pushpoled the back North wall in a foot of water. 2 nice Reds sight fishing. :wink
Water clarity was good most everywhere, fish were spotty. Weather was perfect..

Good for you. Water real dirty around Naples. Did not go out. A friend brought in a 27" Red. Can't wait for this weather to settle down. Hopefully the fishing will improve then.

If you're really looking for crabs (I never look for them -they're just everywhere that I fish...) don't look for crabs -look for claws, since every blue claw will have its 'hooks' up looking for action while they're perfectly stationary (unless you try to put your pushpole on them...) as you go by... Work a small jig near one and they're grab it as it goes by.

Nice report. I went out south of POI on Saturday, no wind, no rain, flat calm, water clear, just gorgeous. Once the water started falling the bite picked up. Specks everywhere, sited one redfish cruising but he scooted when he saw the boat. Landed one off of a likely looking point. Back at the ramp by 12noon.

Yeah, its a hard one to figure out but I got a little nitch fishing I like to do in there. You may come across me when the sun goes down and only the sharks and skeeters are there to keep me company....
  • You'll find me on them little dab Oyster Bars in the middle at dead low tide...in 12 inches of water.
